date night adventure

My young women girls told me about this place that had amazing cheese fries the other week… so when Scotty asked me tonight what I wanted for dinner of course all I was craving was fries. I couldn’t remember the name for the life of me.. all I could think was 76th and capitol. I knew it had to be around there. I texted the girls and didn’t hear back from them so we just decided to go find this mysterious place. For those of you who live in Wisconsin you know capitol is getting into the sketch areas of Milwaukee… even though it was late and rainy, we drove around until we found this ghetto place called Kitts. It had to be this place... We literally sat in the car for a split second before we got out, just to make sure we were safe checking it out. (yes I know, very white of us). I was super hesitant. When we went in a nice black guy asked us if we wanted to buy any bootlegged dvds or incense haha. We ended up ordering hamburgers and fries and tried their custard. Scotty was happy they had red cream soda. The food was so-so, but the whole experience was hilarious. Later that night my girls texted me back and said its on 124th and Burleigh and its called Murfs… omg I was way off. I have no clue where 76th and capitol came from… Too funny. I seriously laughed so hard even though I was super embarrassed. Scott thought it was hilarious. Cant wait to get the legit cheese fries another night. It reminded me of the quote "You don’t look back and remember the nights you did the same old thing, you remember the times you tried something new"

Sobelmans {Milwaukee's best burger}

Tonight we went out on a double with the Logans to celebrate Clinton passing the Step 1 boards. We checked out the famous restaurant Sobelmans to see what these burgers were all about... and it was delish!

We had a great dinner catching up and after we got ice cream at Leon's... yum raspberry custard with hot fudge.

After we just couldn't get enough of each other so we went over to our place. Dani and I walked over to speedway to get treats and a redbox. We tried to make the boys happy but ended up getting the worst movie ever- Cowboys vs Aliens. So painfully long and pointless. "At least there was that one really good scene when that guy went down to the river to..." hahaha Thanks guys I needed a fun night and a good laugh after my long work week :)

caramel apples

I am loving planning date night these days because we have a list of things we want to do. This weekend we had a great night with the Halls making caramel apples. They turned out delish :) After we watched a scary movie... just fyi I'm not that fun to watch scary movies with- I end up talking/nervous laughing the whole time and screaming at every suspensful moment (even if its just a fake out) and I question everything.. "why would you go down there by yourself!?" haha fun night  

haunted corn maze

Tonight I was in charge of date night so I surprised scotty by taking him to a haunted corn maze! We went with our friends Brett & Jess. I didn't know what I got myself into... it was seriously the creepiest thing I have ever done!

No wonder it took like an hour to get through! So creepy! Its in West Bend at the Meadowbrook Farm

the Halls



This creepy man was the owner of the property and he told us haunted ghost stories of what happened at the farm while we got warm around the fire. He started every story with "I probably shouldn't be telling you this..."
So you know they were true!! Ha.



It finally got dark and we were ready to go into the corn maze.... ah!

mexican dinner date night

scotty was in charge of date night last night so of course we headed down town and checked out a Mexican restaurant in the upper east side of Milwaukee. Its not my fav kind of food but it was the hubs choice and its fun to go to the "hipster" side of town. After, we walked down to lake Michigan and went to Alterra coffee to get some hot chocolate and take some night pics. It was nice to get out and explore downtown.

I came across this blog called love actually on pinterest and it got me excited to put in more effort when it comes to planning date nights with the hub. There are some cheesy ideas but also some really creative ways to still have fun as a married couple without having to spend a lot of $

{surprise date nights}

the hubs has been extra sweet lately (I think its because I was gone for a whole week) but he decided that we need to have more surprise date nights. Every friday scotty and I go out and usually end up eating at the same restaurants and going to a movie... Don't get me wrong I love those nights but its easy to get into a routine and seem boring. And as much as it might seem- we are NOT ok with being boring ;) So last Friday he made made me an amazing steak dinner and took me mini golfing... we hadn't gone since we were dating so it was fun to act like we were a on a first date and falling in love again.

rock climbing

Scotty and I had a great weekend! We finally watched true grit (boring) We sold our old table (love craigslist!) went rock climbing, went shopping and had friends over for dinner on sat to use our new table! We made cafe rio pork salads... and went out for frozen yogurt after :)


He just finished his first routation in family medicine and actually loved it... well at least the sports medicine side of it. He saw a lot of routine exams, heard a babys heart beat for the first time, taught inner city kids how to eat healthy and stay active, and got a lot of experience with patients playing doctor all day. I loved this routation because he had a 9-5 sched and was home everynight/weekend. He did have a lot of reading but at least it was interesting and he didn't have the stress of studying. This month he is doing research... I'm loving his sched these days so we can actually enjoy summer together :)

Take me out to the ball game

I won tickets at my work for the Brewers game so Scotty and I enjoyed a fun date last night. I'm not a huge fan of baseball but hey it was free! The brewers are a BIG DEAL here... it combines all of milwaukeeians fav things: an excuse to get totally drunk, eat brats, and yell profanities- all while sitting down. These crazy yet dedicated fans seriously tailgate for hours before the game and then party after. Apparently the Brewers are #1 in their division right now but of course they lost. It was fun to chill with the hubs and enjoy the atmosphere of the ball park though... Last time my dad was in town we took him to Miller Park and he said "I'm as happy as a lark" cause he loves baseball haha cracks me up so I had to take pics and post.
