 I love being a leader in the Young Womens program because I get to spend every Tuesday evening with these amazing girls. Its so fun that the leaders and I are young and can really relate and have fun with the young women. We only have 3 girls but they are each so amazing and make this calling worth it. Tonight we had a Personal Progress Spa Night at my place where we set up spa stations relating to each value (ie: painting our nails for choice & accountability) - Hope you enjoy the silly pics :)

 Just for fun photo sesh with the hub. I am really getting into photography lately and wanted to play around with a couple of ideas that I have seen. We were bored with our engagements (taken 3 year ago... crazy) and wanted to update our bedroom with more canvas wrapped pics. We love our digital slr Canon EOS Rebel and I'm learning more about shutter speeds, fstops, and what-nots and really getting into editing. What photo editing program do you use?

Scotty and I woke up early this morning to volunteer at the Food Bank for a church service project. When we got there we saw a large group of people chatting and excited to serve. We waited around for a little bit until we found out that the Food Bank had the wrong date scheduled for us to come... Total bummer- I was really looking forward to it! What I saw next were true examples of Christ- instead of just going back to bed and returning to their lives, they all thought of other ways we could serve. We starting calling people and coming up with a list of different projects. It felt good to be surrounded by such good people and really helped me stop focusing so much on myself and to think of others. There are opportunities for me to serve someone else each day and have a greater appreciation for people who show service to me and the blessings in my life.

I'm so grateful to be apart of something that is bigger then myself. I love how I feel after I serve :)

{perfect summer night}

We have to take advantage of these summer nights while we can. This month scotty is doing research in rad/onc for his elective rotation and its amazing to spend so much time together. life is good

{surprise date nights}

the hubs has been extra sweet lately (I think its because I was gone for a whole week) but he decided that we need to have more surprise date nights. Every friday scotty and I go out and usually end up eating at the same restaurants and going to a movie... Don't get me wrong I love those nights but its easy to get into a routine and seem boring. And as much as it might seem- we are NOT ok with being boring ;) So last Friday he made made me an amazing steak dinner and took me mini golfing... we hadn't gone since we were dating so it was fun to act like we were a on a first date and falling in love again.

Can I just say how great it is to see your family after its been forever!! I missed my neices like crazy and it was so fun to go out and see where my sisters fam lives. My oldest sis Daycia is living in NC while her hubs is finishing there last year with the Air Force (Air Force paid for his med school). We went out for the baby blessing of her 4th baby girl. yes I am even more baby hungry now... Ava is so adorable!

I didn't take the best of pics cause I was too busy playing with the crazies, holding my new neice, laughing and catching up with my sisters, getting spoiled by my parents, and playing at the beach. Aren't those the best vacays? I was sad to say bye since I won't be seeing those cute kids for like another year... but I am so grateful I was even able to go and it was nice to come home to my hubs.

Is it seriously only thursday?! Has anyone's week been as painfully slow as mine? I feel like I have SO much to get done... laundry, pack, go to target, buy a new book, get everything ready for mels baby shower, take a nap, paint my nails, get the next two young women activities planned out, try to go to the STATE FAIR with the hubs- all before I leave to north carolina tomorrow... unfortunately I've been exhausted/busy every night after work and I'm stuck with doing everything tonight (way to go chels) Now I have to sit here for another agonizing slow day at work and just get anxious about all the things on my 'to do list'.

I can't wait to be here...
and see my new neice, 3 other crazy neices, dayce, b-rad, kades, dad, and mom... TOMORROW

rock climbing

Scotty and I had a great weekend! We finally watched true grit (boring) We sold our old table (love craigslist!) went rock climbing, went shopping and had friends over for dinner on sat to use our new table! We made cafe rio pork salads... and went out for frozen yogurt after :)


He just finished his first routation in family medicine and actually loved it... well at least the sports medicine side of it. He saw a lot of routine exams, heard a babys heart beat for the first time, taught inner city kids how to eat healthy and stay active, and got a lot of experience with patients playing doctor all day. I loved this routation because he had a 9-5 sched and was home everynight/weekend. He did have a lot of reading but at least it was interesting and he didn't have the stress of studying. This month he is doing research... I'm loving his sched these days so we can actually enjoy summer together :)
